Microsoft has just released an update that is claimed to fix a nasty bug that had been causing the Windows Store to crash whenever users attempted to open it. Hopefully this won’t come as a surprise to anyone, as the problem had been widespread for months, but it’s good to see Microsoft has finally taken action. The update in question is codenamed “Meltdown,” and is one of the first updates to take advantage of Microsoft’s new “Windows Defer” technology.

Microsoft and Windows users have grumbled for some time about the state of the Windows Store, and although the Redmond company has not offered a comprehensive solution, it has been addressing some of the more common bugs and crashes. For instance, the latest Windows 10 update fixes a bug that causes the Windows Store to crash when you try to download an update or an app. (The error itself, I hear it’s quite awful.)

What caused Windows Store Crash exception code 0xc000027b?

Malformed registry keys : Some registry keys may also be responsible for storing data related to a defective Windows Store component. Some affected users were able to resolve the issue by using a registry editor to delete the affected registry key.

Damaged memory part : A fairly common problem that causes this error code is a damaged Windows memory component. In most cases, this happens after the security scanner quarantines some items that are actively used by the Windows Store component. In this case, you can solve the problem by automatically resetting the entire Windows Store or by using the wreset.exe utility.

Faulty App Store: It is also possible that this particular problem is due to the fact that your local Microsoft Store folder contains some files that are locked in a suspended state. If this script applies, you can solve the problem by updating all relevant components in the store using the Powershell command.

Corrupt system file : In some cases, this issue may be caused by a damaged base system file that is affecting the stability of Microsoft Store. In such a situation, it is usually possible to solve the problem by performing a repair installation.

Wrong time and date: It turns out that this particular problem can also be caused by an incorrect setting of the computer’s clock. In most cases, this issue is due to an incorrect timestamp that causes the Microsoft Store server to close the connection, stopping the application.
